I simply cannot go on. The thought of trying to pound out a Raving most days is too hard on my sensitive nature and can only coarsen my silky soul. I am simply not made for the day to day jousting this type of writing requires and would rather just concentrate on my weekly musings for the Sunday column. So I have asked a dear friend of mine, one Christopher Dalton who as a much younger fellow has more stamina than your aged Major and I think can make a better go of it than me. He tells me he is looking forward to it with gusto which may be knocked back slightly when he discovers how difficult it is. I have told him that he is not required to write everyday but certainly more than several times a week. We shall observe how he does but I am brimming with optimism. See what you think and please let me know. It will be in the strictest confidence of course.
